2024年6月20日～21日に幕張メッセにて開催されるAWS Summit JapanへKDDIブースを出展することになりました。

We are excited to announce that KDDI will be exhibiting at AWS Summit Japan, taking place at Makuhari Messe from June 20th to 21st, 2024.

はじめに

KDDIブースでは、AWSのMEC(Muti-Access Edge Computing)であるAWS Wavelenegthの活用例をご紹介します。 昨年も展示し好評だった5GとMECを用いた遠隔操縦デモがパワーアップした形で体験していただけます。他にもMECの活用例として映像伝送や医療DXの事例の展示もありますので、ぜひ足を運んでいただけたら嬉しいです。

At the KDDI booth, we will showcase the utilization of AWS Wavelength, AWS's MEC (Multi-access Edge Computing). You will have the opportunity to experience an enhanced remote-control demonstration utilizing 5G and MEC, which was well-received in last year's exhibition. Additionally, we will present examples of utilizing MEC in video transmission and medical DX, so we'd be delighted if you could visit our booth.

AWS Wavelengthとは-About AWS Wavelength-

au網内でAWSのインフラストラクチャサービス(EC2など)を利用できるサービスです。このためインターネットの影響を受けずにauに限定されたネットワークで安定した通信環境でAWSをご利用できます。

AWS Wavelength allows you to use AWS infrastructure services (such as EC2) within the au network. This enables you to use AWS in a stable communication environment limited to the au network without being affected by the internet.

遠隔操縦デモの構成

-Remote Control Demonstration Configuration-

ここではAWS SUMMITで展示するデモの構成をご説明します。

Here is an overview of the demonstration setup we will showcase at AWS SUMMIT.

制御側(ラジコンカー)については、車載カメラの映像をJetsonのボード上に実装したソリトンシステムズ社の「Zao SDK」にてエンコードし、5Gルータ経由で映像を送信します。「Zao SDK」は従来エンコーダー装置で行っていた機能をSDK化されたもので、Jetsonのボードに組み込めるため、お客さまにとってエンコーダー装置の筐体のスペース・電源等の課題を解決できます。一方操作者側は送られた映像をPCで閲覧しながら、コントローラで操作します。映像信号・制御信号の中継機能は、AWS Wavelength上に配置されたソリトンシステムズ社の「Zao Cloud View」が担います。

For the control side (RC car), the Soliton Systems' "Zao SDK" encodes the camera's onboard video on the Jetson board and transmits the video via a 5G router. The "Zao SDK" SDK-izes the functions traditionally performed by an encoder device, allowing integration on the Jetson board, thereby resolving space and power supply issues for customers. On the operator side, the transmitted video is viewed on a PC while controlling the car with a controller. The relay of video and control signals is handled by Soliton Systems' "Zao Cloud View" deployed on AWS Wavelength.

AWS SUMMITの期間中、お客さまには弊社の虎ノ門オフィスにあるラジコンカーを会場の幕張から操縦していただけます。この機会に遠隔操縦の感覚をぜひ体験してください。5GとAWS Wavelengthの活用により、違和感なく操縦できることを体感いただけると思います。結構リアルタイムです。

During AWS SUMMIT, you will be able to control RC car in our Toranomon office from the venue at Makuhari. We invite you to experience the sensation of remote controlling. By leveraging 5G and AWS Wavelength, you will be able to experience seamless control without discomfort.It's almost real-time!

2023年のデモと異なる点は、ラジコンカーが新しくなり、搭載カメラが１台から４台になりました。これにより、後退する際も障害物を確認しながら操作できるため、さらに操縦しやすくなりました。

One key difference from the 2023 demo is the upgrade of the RC car, now equipped with four cameras instead of one. This enhancement allows for easier operation as it enables obstacle detection even when reversing.
